Service Ministries
At Palmerdale Cross, our Service Ministries are the hands and feet of the church in motion. These teams work behind the scenes and on the front lines to ensure our church functions smoothly and reaches our community with excellence and love. From preparing meals to maintaining our campus to organizing outreach efforts, each team plays a vital role in supporting the mission of our church.

Serve One Ministry
Leader - Debbie Davis
Serve One Sunday gives Palmerdale Cross members the chance to volunteer one Sunday a month, helping create a warm and welcoming worship experience. Volunteers serve in roles like Greeters, Ushers, Connect Desk, Children’s Ministry, and Parking/Security, ensuring every guest feels valued and at home.
Connect Center Team
Leader - Robert Matthews
Our Connect Team helps create a welcoming atmosphere by warmly greeting guests and visitors, answering questions, and providing helpful information. They connect newcomers with our pastoral staff to ensure everyone feels valued and at home from the moment they arrive.
Outreach Ministry Team
The Outreach Team connects Palmerdale Cross with our community by organizing events that share the love of Jesus beyond our church walls. They focus on building relationships, inviting others to know Christ, and equipping church members through evangelism training.
IT/Media Ministry Team
Leader - Devin Sanders
The IT/Media Team supports Palmerdale Cross by managing sound, technical equipment, and media for worship services, weddings, and events. They also capture photos and videos, welcoming anyone with an interest or experience in technology and media to join.
Young at Heart Ministry
Leader - Carol Parsley
Our Young at Heart Ministry offers senior adults meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and fun through Bible studies, events, trips, and musical outreach. Join us every second Tuesday to connect, grow, and enjoy community in this vibrant season of life.
Benevolence Ministry
Leader - Mickey Gilliland
This team partners with our pastoral staff to care for those in need within our ministry area. They offer encouragement through meeting physical needs and create opportunities for the church family to give toward ongoing and special benevolence efforts.
Social Media Ministry Team
Leader - Jodie Schramm
The goal of a social media ministry is to connect the church and community, share the gospel and God’s love, and promote services, events, and outreach, thus fostering a strong online and offline community.
Discipleship Ministry

The Discipleship Ministry Team guides church members in their spiritual growth and equips them to disciple others, fostering a strong, faith-filled community
Leadership/Enlistment Ministry Team
Leader - Susan Murray
This team connects Palmerdale Cross members with service opportunities that match their unique talents, gifts, and passions. They also provide training and support to equip volunteers for confident and impactful ministry involvement.
Food Service Ministry Team
Leader - Roberta Whatley
This team ensures our kitchen is well-stocked and ready to support all church events by maintaining supplies and pantry items. They also coordinate meal planning and decorations for church gatherings, helping create a warm and welcoming environment for every function.
Building Ministry
Leader - Neilson Holt
This team helps maintain our church buildings and grounds with excellence and care. They address safety concerns, handle routine checks like fire extinguishers and emergency lights, and organize volunteers for special projects around campus.
Special Activities Ministry Team

This team plans and coordinates churchwide fellowships and special events, working with other ministries to engage volunteers and create meaningful opportunities for connection and service within the church and community.
Encouragers Ministry Team
Leader - Tommy Thompson
The Encouragers Ministry Team offers biblical support and prayer to those who come forward during decisions to accept Christ, seek help, or join Palmerdale Cross, providing comfort and guidance in their faith journey.
Prayer Ministry
Leader - Adenike Moyeguin
The Prayer Ministry Team helps deepen the prayer lives of our church family through prayer groups, teams, chains, and studies—empowering Palmerdale Cross Baptist Church’s ministries and services through the power of prayer.
Loving Touch Ministry
Leader - Barbara Jerrell
The Loving Touch Ministry Team cares for home-bound and nursing home members through quarterly visits, encouragement cards, and prayer—reminding them they are loved and not forgotten by our church family.
Bereavement Ministry Team
This new ministry supports church families during times of loss. The team offers spiritual, emotional, and practical care to those grieving the death of a loved one, helping them feel loved and supported by their church family.
Usher Ministry
Leader - David Brasfield
The Usher Ministry Team serves by collecting offerings during worship, honoring God and supporting the church’s mission as a vital part of the worship experience.
Missions Ministry
Leader - Pauline Smith
This team organizes special service projects that connect the church family with opportunities to help those in need—whether ongoing needs or disaster relief—encouraging hands-on ministry beyond the church walls.
